The Bell Brothers Piano Company was established around 1915 in Muncie, Indiana. The firm was known for building very good quality pianos, and they were widely distributed throughout the Midwestern United States. In addition to the Bell Brothers name, the firm built pianos under the Deterling and Merriman brand names. Deterling and Merriman were sold as affordable alternatives to the costlier Bell Brothers brand, while offering comparable quality. The Bell Brothers Piano Company was out of business before 1930 due to the Great Depression.
